I believe that a decent window manager should be an essential part of any operating system, and Apple should take note of this. As the OS updates, these apps get weirder and weirder, leaving users frustrated and without a seamless solution.Īfter over a decade and maybe almost $50k invested in the Apple ecosystem, I'm considering migrating to another platform. Even on a top-of-the-line M1 max machine with 64GB of RAM, these apps can still be laggy and unreliable, especially for users rocking a multi-monitor setup. I have tried several third-party apps, such as Amethyst, Yabai, Magnet, and the new native Stage Manager, but each one has its own drawbacks. While Linux and Windows have far better options, Apple seems to be lagging behind. The lack of a native window manager feels like this OS has stopped in time. It's time for Apple to step up its game and provide a decent window manager for their users.
